Children
Children’s body’s are amazingly robust and they seem to have endless amounts of energy every day!
As your child grows and explores the world some may experience pain or discomfort from falls or accidents. Other kids may have symptoms simply from their rapidly growing skeletal system placing increased forces on joints, ligaments and muscles.
Babies
The human body is truly amazing. No better example of this is a mother’s journey through pregnancy and ultimately giving birth to her new bub. One of the most extraordinary things is how the mother’s body and the baby’s body are able to adapt during the birthing process.
The nine months in-utero culminating in the birth process places immense force on the babies body. Whether there is an unassisted vaginal birth, the use of forceps, vacuum or a c-section, the baby goes through remarkable stress leaving the uterus and entering into the outside world.
Sometimes these stresses can have an adverse effect on the babies skull bones and their ability to move their neck. This can result in things such as feeding difficulties and plagiocephaly (misshapen head).
At Connect Health + Movement we speak with you at length about your pregnancy and birth to better understand the experience of your baby through these times and consider what impact they’ve had. We assess your baby from top to bottom and if appropriate provide hands on osteopathic treatment.
